Cooking Class

A half-day immersion in the tradition, tastes and smells of Morocco. The cooking course will take place as follows:

– in the morning at 10h30 or in the afternoon at 17h00, you will be welcomed at MonRiad for a welcome tea. Then you will meet Aicha, your guide in Moroccan cooking;

– with a list of the necessary ingredients, you will take a tour of the covered market (souq), one of the oldest in the medina, inebriated by the smells of spices;

– back at the Riad, you will become a real Moroccan chef ready to cook 1 starter, 2 main dishes and 1 dessert;

– when everything is ready, you can enjoy your homemade lunch or dinner on our panoramic terrace.

You can also prepare gluten-free couscous and vegetarian and vegan recipes.

Essaouira

It is a UNESCO-listed small seaside town, one of the most charming on the Atlantic coast with walls that divide the old town into several districts. Its speciality is Argan wood handcrafts, which are the only ones in the region. The programme is as follows:

– departure for Essaouira at 8h30 with a visit (optional) to the Argan cooperative. Arrival after a 2h30 drive;

– possible visit of the pretty town (guide available at extra cost);

– free time at leisure and return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Ouzoud Waterfalls

These magnificent waterfalls more than 100 metres high are one of the most important natural attractions in the Moroccan Atlas. You walk among the olive trees at the bottom of the falls because the path offers a very close view of the falls. One can descend to the bottom where the torrent falls with a deafening noise. Another path then leads back up to a point where the view of the abyss is fascinating. Tourists will be surprised to catch a glimpse of monkeys in the wild. The programme is as follows:

– departure at 8h30 in the direction of the Ouzoud waterfalls. The journey time is 3h;

– return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Ait Ben Haddou / Ouarzazate

Leaving Marrakech, you will drive along a verdant road amidst the beauty of the High Atlas landscapes, passing through the villages of Ait Ourir and Taddert and the Tiz-N’tichka pass (the highest driveable road in North Africa). We also discover the Kasbah of Taourirt, the former home of Glaoui, and Tiflout located in the outskirts of Ouarzazate. The programme is as follows:

– departure at 7h00 for Ouarzazate with a 4-hour drive;

– back to Marrakech in the late afternoon via the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou.

Ourika

A lush valley that rises gently on the spurs of the High Atlas walls from which typical villages can be glimpsed. We also visit the Berber market of a potter’s village where we can discover the cool shores of the Ourika wadi. The programme is as follows:

– departure at 9h00, journey time 40 minutes;

– return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.

Zagora

Desert Tour – 2 days and 1 night. The programme is as follows:

Day 1

– Early morning departure in the direction of the Zagora desert. We enjoy a dromedary ride in the colours of the sunset and there is also the possibility of hiring a quad bike at an extra charge. The day ends with dinner and a show under the stars and a night in the tented camp.

Day 2

– After the charm of sunrise over the dunes, we continue on to Ouarzazate to visit the magnificent 12th-century kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, still used today as the set for numerous film productions;

– return to Marrakech in the evening.

Included in the price:

Transport –> a 4×4 (driver, vehicle insurance and fuel included).

Accommodation –> one night in the equipped tented camp, with breakfast and dinner.

Activities –> the dromedary ride at sunset.

Excluded from the price:

Lunches, the guide to visit Ait Ben Haddou, tips, dinner drinks.

Merzouga

Desert Tour – 3 days and 2 nights. The programme is as follows:

Day 1 -> Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dades Gorges (night in Riad/kasbah).

Day 2 -> Todra Gorges – Merzouga (night in the tented camp).

Day 3 -> from Merzouga, return to Marrakech in the late afternoon passing through the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, UNESCO heritage site.

Included in the price:

Transport -> a 4×4 (driver, vehicle insurance and fuel included).

Accommodation -> one night in the equipped tented camp, one night in Riad/kasbah, with breakfasts and dinners.

Activities -> the dromedary ride at sunset.

Excluded from the price:

Lunches, the guide to visit Ait Ben Haddou, tips, dinner drinks.
